A White Mountain Yoga Retreat

I will be joining Debbie Cohen this summer in leading a yoga retreat in the White Mountains at the historic Maplewood Inn, located in Bethlehem, NH.  Debbie and I met when we both taught at a small studio in Harvard Square. We have shared both students and teachers in the last 10 years, and are delighted to teach together on the east coast. 

This retreat is ideal for those with an established yoga practice, or those who are interested in deepening a newer practice.

Yoga classes will be taught for all levels. There will be an early morning and a late afternoon yoga session. Guests are invited to look into old patterns that are ready to be shed, new ways to be in their body and time out for self-compassion. Beyond the asana classes, Debbie will share her teachings of positive psychology, and Sarah will be offering a Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement lesson.

Breakfast and dinner will be included with your room and board. Guests are encouraged to explore the surrounding area for lunch. After lunch there will be time for outdoor activities, planned hikes, walks, shopping, or just napping!

About the teachers: 
Debbie has been teaching yoga for 22 years. She has led numerous retreats. Her own training includes over 1,000 hours of study. For many years, she ran a 200-hr yoga teacher training program. She was also part of the teaching faculty in Harvard University’s 200-hr Positive Psychology course and is currently teaching both Positive Psychology and yoga in Minnesota. During the retreat, she will teach Positive Psychology and/or Yoga Sutra study in addition to hatha yoga.

 

Sarah has studied yoga with many senior level instructors in several traditions of yoga, all emphasizing safety and body awareness. Sarah is a certified Yoga Therapist and has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. She uses her training in modern dance and the Feldenkrais method to deepen her students’ learning process. Her imaginative sensory-filled teachings guide students through a rich movement experience. During the retreat, Sarah will lead asana classes inspired by her current studies of the Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement method.

Please RSVP by March 1.  There are 5 rooms with double beds for those who would like to share a room.  The remaining rooms are single, although some have pull-out couches.
