Yoga 101 Workshop

Yoga 101: An introduction to the practice of yoga

Sunday March 17th 1:30-3:30

Yoga 101 is a two-hour workshop where students will learn the basics of a modern yoga practice in a safe, supportive environment.

After attending the workshop, students will be properly prepared and feel confident to walk into their first “beginner” or “all-levels” yoga class. The Yoga 101 workshop is appropriate for both brand new students and for those returning to yoga who want a “refresher course” in order to deepen their practice. Students are provided a foundation in yogic breathing, meditation techniques, and the core philosophies behind the tradition. All you need to do is bring your body, explore your boundaries, and have fun!

Pricing: $30 with pre-registration or $35 the day of the workshop. This workshop is non-refundable.

To register for the workshop, call (617) 547-9642, or stop by the front desk at the Harvard Square studio.

A Yoga Retreat with Sarah Baumert and Eva Mohn

Moving with Intention:

Making Space for the Art of Attention

Join us for this exciting collaboration between Sarah B. Yoga and somatic educator Eva Mohn. We are both excited to share our knowledge with new and continuing students. Come together for a weeklong yoga retreat in the sunshine and support of Mar de Jade’s pristine eco-friendly environment.

These 7 days allow you the opportunity to detach from daily stress and establish a daily practice of yoga, meditation, and bodily awareness. Grow confidence in your personal yoga practice and share a sense of community over several days of consecutive study and dialogue. During this time of Spring renewal, gain wisdom about your body and set personal intentions to take with you into the season.

Here are a few of the themes we will investigate during this retreat:

  • Breaking down the information that your body is already presenting to you.
  • Building kinesthetic knowledge, so your body can trust what is present.
  • Deepening attention to the process of moving.
  • Finding balance between effort and ease in your practice.
  • Discovering and softening into boundaries.
  • Feeling the relationship between breath, nervous system, and muscular system.
  • Wisdom on how the yogic lifestyle can support any body.
